Italian Alessia Zecchini Sets New Free Immersion Freediving World Record

We have breaking news from Deans Blue Hole in the Bahamas and the OriginECN Vertical Blue Freediving Competition where Italian freediver Alessia Zecchini has set a new Freediving World Record of 93m in Free Immersion (FIM).  The record was set under AIDA International rules.

This extends the current world record of 92m, held by Jeanine Grasmeijer (Netherlands), who set it during the Deepsea Challenge in Bonaire in 2016.

Zecchini will now go through WADA Anti-Doping tests and all footage will be reviewed by the judges later today.  Once both those things are completed the record will be made officially announced.
