Light & Motion Dazzles Us Again–This Time with a Submersible Light that Keeps Its Cool Topside

-

The folks at Light & Motion are showing off some great new underwater imaging lights at this year’s DEMA Show.

DeeperBlue.com spoke with Jeremiah Allen to find out what’s new and exciting. Here’s what he had to show us:

SOLA Video 3800–This is an improved version of an old favorite fitted out with a new body that features dual-side indicator lights so you can tell how much charge you have left from any angle. Oh, and did we mention it’s bright? 3800 lumens bright, to be exact. It can be yours for US$699.99/~£545.17 GBP/~€612.92.

SOLA DIVE 2500 S/F–This versatile powerhouse offers both a 2500 lumen 60° flood light and a 1200 lumen 12° spot. The DIVE version comes with a hand mount, while the topside version attaches via ball mount. We recommend the DIVE 2500, as the hand mount retails for $40 on its own, and that comes included in the DIVE package. It retails for $599.99/~£467.28 GBP/~€525.36.

SOLA Dive 1200 Spot–As the name suggests, this is a dedicated 12° spot in the popular SOLA body, retailing for $299.99/~£233.64 GBP/~€262.68.

GoBe 1000 Wide–The popular GoBe light features a 500 or 700 lumen body with interchangeable heads for maximum versatility. The 1000 Wide head is a powerful flood with fast-charge capability, retailing for $179.99/~£140.18/~€157.60.

GoBE Spot (12° head)–This head narrows your focus down to 12° to illuminate those tight shots and retails for $149.99/~£116.82 GBP/~€131.33.

Stella 1000/2500 UW–This year’s standout! The new Stella provides 2500 powerful lumens at depth, and can comfortable sustain a 1000 lumen bean topside without overheating. You can even use the 2500 lumen setting for 30 second bursts: a built-in thermostat monitors the temp inside the body and decreases the power before it can burn out your lamp. The Stella is also easily modified with a collection of accessories that easily snap or screw on, and a 25° Fresnel lens comes in the box. It retails for $499.99/~£389.40 /~€437.80.

Light & Motion’s waterproof lights are fast becoming an industry standard, used to light the Superbowl, the Olympics, and the Weather Channel. They were even used to light coverage of the harrowing rescue of the trapped soccer team from a flooded cave in Thailand. Just imagine what they could do for your underwater images!

Visit their website from the comfort of your own home to find your perfect light.
