The American Academy of Underwater Sciences (AAUS) has accepted FORCE BLUE as a member.
The driving force behind the acceptance into the AAUS is FORCE BLUE Dive Safety Officer Patti-Kirk Gross, who spent the best part of two years completing the FORCE BLUE scientific diving manual.
FORCE BLUE’s mission is “to unite the community of Special Operations veterans with the world of marine conservation for the betterment of both.”
Acceptance to the AAUS means that FORCE BLUE is credited with upholding the highest industry standards. It is also exempt from U.S. federal occupational safety and health (OSHA) restrictions when performing underwater research, scientific studies, and restoration work.
According to FORCE BLUE Director of Diving Angelo Fiore:
“This recognition by the AAUS is pivotal for us. It shows the scientific community that FORCE BLUE does things correctly, and it opens the door for our veteran divers to begin engaging in marine conservation missions across the globe.”
